MOAS delivers relief supplies to Alan Kurdi

first_imgMOASMOAS The humanitarian organisation the Migrant Offshore Aid Station, has supplied much needed relief supplies to the crew and rescued migrants aboard the ‘Alan Kurdi’ rescue vessel.MOAS had chartered a vessel which on Tuesday afternoon, took supplies like warm blankets and clothing to the migrants on board. MOAS’ Director, Regina Catrambone has promised more aid and the hope that the situation will be resolved quickly.The move comes three weeks after the Alan Kurdi rescue vessel operated by the German NGO Sea Eye, saved 64 men, women and children in the Central Mediterranean.Since that time, the 17 crew and their rescued passengers have been unable to find a safe port to disembark in Italy , with the vessel now situated off of the Maltese coast.Read more:Woman medically evacuated to Malta from rescue vesselItaly’s attempt to separate families was a breach of human rights – Sea EyeEC calls on Member States to find a solution for Alan KurdiThe European Commission is still negotiating with member states over the next steps for those on board, with no known breakthrough as of yet.Gorden Isler, Chairman of Sea Eye .e.V. expressed his gratitude to MOAS saying, ‘We are really grateful to our friends at MOAS.
