The incumbent makes decisions regarding boilerand chiller loads in order to satisfy campus heating/coolingrequirements. Observes plant equipment during operation and makesrecommendations regarding equipment condition and potentialmaintenance needs. Plays an important role in the operation of theplant and is expected to be a contributing member of the PowerPlant team with regard to the overall function of theoperation.Note: Multiple positionsavailable.Note: This position is noteligible for visa sponsorship.Essential JobFunctions:Start, stop andoperate boilers, chillers, combustion turbine/generator and relatedequipment consistent with a central power plantenvironmentPerform routinemaintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of boilers, chillers,combustion turbine/generator and plant equipment on a regularbasisTest boiler andcooling tower water condition and add chemical treatment tomaintain proper limits and to prevent deposits orcorrosionCheck boiler safetyand shut down equipmentDisassemble, inspect,reassemble and cleanequipmentUnderstand and becomeproficient in the operation and use of all plant softwarepackagesMake rounds and keepequipment and plant logsMonitor and log fueloil and gas consumptionTake and log fuel oiltank levels during fuel oil burningoperationsAttend staffmeetings, training seminars and in-service plant equipment trainingsessions as scheduledPerforms assignedduties in a manner that fosters initiative, cooperation, problemsolving and team buildingMakes recommendationsto update, renew or institute current or new practices or policieswithin the plantPerform otherfunctions and duties asassigned Thisdescription is a general statement of required major duties andresponsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis.
