VERSAILLES, Ind. — The Historic Hoosier Hills Woodland Committee will be holding a free Forestry Field Day on Saturday, October 25, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The field day will be held in Nebraska, Indiana at Parrish Woods (owned by Joe Schuerman).The Forestry Field Day will highlight the following topics:Creating a successful Regeneration Opening – Natural Regeneration vs. Spot Planted Seedlings;State & Federal Cost-Share Assistance Programs;Individual Tree Selection Harvest & Follow-up Timber Stand Improvement; andTimber Sale Process – Important Elements of a Successful Timber Sale.Presentations will be given by consulting and state foresters.Light refreshments will be provided. This is an outdoor event please dress for outdoor conditions and moderate walking. Directions to Parrish Woods are turn on County Road 550 North in Nebraska from Highway 50. Parrish Woods is located east of the “T” intersection of County Road 550 North and County Road 750 East.
